Entrance Exam : IIT-M to conduct HSEE exam online
From this year students aspiring to join the five-year integrated MA Humanities courses of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) will take the common entrance test online.
“For the fist time, the first part of the examination (objective type) for the all India entrance exam, called Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination, (HSEE), will be held online,” a release from IIT-M Deputy Registrar Lt Col (Retd) Jayakumar said.
The duration of the exam would be two and a half hours, the release said, adding this MA programme for students after Standard 12 in – English, Economics and Development Studies – was available only at IIT-M.
IIT-M had introduced a new “online assisted mode” in the application pattern. This would enable the aspirants to submit filled-in application forms and fee at designated branches of Indian Bank and Union Bank, which would send it to IIT-M.
The duration of the exam will be two and a half hours. This course is offered only at IIT-M.
The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) will conduct the Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE) on May 3.
Students having 10+2 degree with 60pc marks for general category and 55pc for SC, ST and PD in aggregate in their qualifying examination are eligible for HSEE.
Last date for submitting application is April 4, the release said and added that details could be had on hsee.iitm.ac.in
